158823 hit a farm vehicle at Buttington Hall Farm UWGT crossing at around 11.47. The front end of 52823 is crumpled. The other unit was 158822. A similar accident occurred at that same crossing on 23rd June 2004 when another Class 158 again hit a farm vehicle on the crossing. A third collision occurred in the 1990s when a Massey Ferguson tractor fouled the crossing and was hit by a Class 150, causing severe damage to the unit and causing the train driver severe injuries.
